What is a Schema Therapy?
Schema Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on identifying and transforming early maladaptive schemas—deep emotional patterns and core beliefs that develop when important emotional needs are not adequately met in childhood. These schemas shape how we perceive ourselves, others, and the world, often leading to repeated difficulties in relationships, work, and emotional well-being.

How does it work?
In Schema Therapy, we explore where these patterns come from and how they show up in your daily life. Therapy combines insight with emotional and practical work, using conversation, experiential techniques, and concrete strategies to help you respond to yourself and others in healthier ways. The therapeutic relationship itself plays an important role by offering both safety and guidance.

-
In my work, Schema Therapy is often integrated with approaches such as CBT, DBT, and MI (Motivational Interviewing).
