Therapy Approach

What To Expact

I don’t believe people—or therapy—fit into rigid categories. My work is collaborative, compassionate, and evidence-based, and I adapt my approach to your unique needs. I aim to create a safe space where you can deepen self-understanding, work through anxiety, mood difficulties or past experiences, strengthen relationships, and navigate life with more clarity and resilience.

 

My primary framework is Schema Therapy (Read more here), which helps identify and change long-standing emotional patterns and coping styles shaped by early experiences. Depending on what is most helpful for you, I also integrate elements from:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for practical work with thoughts and behaviors

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI) to support motivation and readiness for change

 

All methods are tailored to you—used when helpful, never rigidly applied.​​

  • Intro call — A brief introductory session to see if we’re a good fit. You can share what you’re looking for and ask any questions before starting therapy.

 

  • Clear focus, no rush — We set priorities together and move forward at a pace that feels supportive and manageable.

  • Homework when helpful — When useful, I may suggest simple reflections or exercises to support your process between sessions—always tailored, never overwhelming.

  • Insurance & reimbursement — With a GP referral via Therapeutisch Centrum Leiden, sessions are covered by Dutch basic health insurance. In private practice, I work with an AGB code, which often allows partial reimbursement depending on your insurer.

  • Online or in-person (Leiden) — Sessions last 60 minutes. The first intake is up to 90 minutes to explore your background and goals. Online and in-person sessions offer the same level of care and confidentiality.

I provide practical support for attention, focus, and emotional regulation, while addressing the challenges ADHD may bring to work, school, and relationships.

Whether it’s moving abroad, changing careers, or entering a new life stage, I help you adjust and find meaning during times of change. We work on managing stress effectively and restoring energy, clarity, and balance when life feels overwhelming.
Relationship patterns
Therapy helps you understand recurring dynamics in relationships and develop healthier, more fulfilling connections.
Self-esteem & Self-identity
I support clients in exploring and strengthening their sense of self-worth and identity, helping them build confidence and live more authentically.

Pricing 

I offer therapy on a sliding scale, with fees adjusted to your financial circumstances. This allows therapy to remain accessible while maintaining high professional standards.

  • Standard rate: €75 / 60 minutes

  • Extended session: €90 / 75 minutes

  • Students & unemployed: €60 / 60 minutes
